LESSON PLANS
COMMUNITY BUILDING
While working as a long-term substitute, I conducted family conferences for a 3rd-grade class. To prepare for these meetings, I created a self-assessment for students to use a reflection. Student reflections were used as a starting point in facilitating family conferences. The conferences were student-led and allowed the students to share their strengths and areas that need improvement with myself and their families. This assignment gave students a chance to reflect on themselves as learners during remote schooling.

SOCIAL STORY
Grade 3
I created this social story to prepare students for the transition of their teaching coming back to the class and one of long term substitute teachers leaving the class. We followed up this lesson by making thank you cards for the substitute teacher and writing letter to the teacher who is coming back. This lesson helped ease the students into the change and make them feel comfortable and supported.
