LESSON PLANS
MATH
In Spring 2020, I took a course on different strategies for teaching mathematics to elementary school students. From peer-reviewed articles, I learned the importance of having students explore the problems on their own to further their learning. The lesson must be set up in a specific way to do this. In this lesson plan, I used the mental run strategy to enable students to build on their prior knowledge and learn the material.
ADDING MULTI-DIGIT NUMBERS USING PLACE VALUE
Grade 2
Students will activate prior knowledge about place value and help them understand the value of money. This lesson was made during spring 2020 when school was fully remote. I created this lesson so students would still have an opportunity to use manipulatives to further their learning in a virtual setting.
